Really interesting .... sure haven't seen any woodpecker around here like that.

I've seen 2 kinds here - the red-bellied and the pileated (sp?) - the red-bellied hammers on the metal strap holding the yard light up on the pole in my driveway every AM sometime between 6 and 6:30.....

I've only seen the Red-bellied, Pileated, Downy, Red-headed, and once even the Red Cockaded.

Last summer I spotted a dapple bellied orange crested bowlegged split tailed lisping woodpecker.
