The Morning After Jerkiness
It has been that slow creep from silent defense shields in place to tiny snippets of less awkward conversation sometimes accompanied by an o...

As you can clearly see Humprey was looking dapper this morning when I checked on him on the way out the door for work. Stealing yet another...

Amazing.
Question: your Smoker, Angel, & Youth, are they the same woman?
:) I dunno... they are outta my head with no plan about who they are.
The reason I ask, I was looking at your page just kind of drifting in my thoughts, and they caught my eye in the banner you have on the side. Anyway, I went to one of the links you have, Angie Reed, and found it absolutely compelling looking at the paintings she did with her mother. Stunned me. The whole concept, then examining the melded paintings. Beautiful, stirring, made me think. Hey, you want to try? I'm no where on your scale, have only done acrylics, and even that not in years...but it might be fun. Or not, at least we can hit thought provoking. Or not, but...ok, maybe a dumb idea.
I think that is a fantastic idea...not dumb at all! I am thrilled beyond words that you would even want to do that with me. Seriously! We need to figure out the logistics of this and DO IT!
I have a painting here at the house that a friend of mine (Michelle Macy - she comes here but doesn't comment!!!!) One night we were here at the house with Mitch and Massoud... we were all painting, and then Michelle and I started together on one big painting...oils on a 3' x 4' canvas... but we painted together with our fingers, laughing and talking and drinking. The paint was so thick that it took weeks for it to dry! What fun it was... I have the painting still, I should try to get a picture of it tomorrow when I have good day light.
as usual, i digressed, sorry! (maybe a too much wine tonight) BUT LET ME TELL YOU... I would LOVE to do some paintings with you!
p.s. I love Angie's work... I have a few of her paintings here at the house, in my cubicle at work, and Chels has one too. I really like how she intigrates the mythology with today and herself and figures in general.
I'm totally enamored with this work by Angie:
Personal Growth
p.s.s.s..... I've seen your paintings on the walls of your house (the mural up the staircase wall) You are most certainly on my scale! damnit!
Oh yes, dragons painted for teenage sons are certainly gallery worthy. You are being kind, now stop. Anyway, that is the one painting no lie that I studied for quite some time, aside from the ones she painted with her mother. It's interesting looking at a painting through your own lense of perspective (stupid statement-and what other lense would you look at it with? Just for tonight inner voices shut up and let me ramble), I interpreted it as a statement about her & her mother obviously, but how to separate my own perspective from the painting...what was I bringing in, and what was she saying? And as I'm still trying to figure out the whole mother/daughter thing from both sides I always look for insight elsewhere as to what the true thing is. I'm always looking for clues, wisdom, definition. I truly, deeply, and with all my soul would like to think that mothers and daughters can be the best of friends.
The message as I get it through that painting is that it isn't happening yet in these womens' lives. Oh sorrow. Longing, love, yearning, connected, but not on the same page.
Ya'll mind if I say something completly mindless and stupid? (like i'm gonna wait...)
Cool!
Okay then...who else could go for some eggs and bacon?
Hey Mitch! did you get those eggs-n-bacon??????
Hi Mitch! It would be so wonderful for me if we all could be together sharing eggs & bacon this morning! That would be a fun breakfast.
