Actually, it just occurred to me ...
Since that box is rather small and porto fellas can get rather big - do you suspose that they have been rigged up with some sort of "timed release" enzyme embedded in that white goo so that they appear sequentially over time so that each one has the proper room to avoid stunting???
How's that for an explanation of their quite timid and slow appearances?
I did read somewhere within the supplied lit that subsequent crops would occur...but that they would be smaller (the shrooms would be smaller). I think that the reason I had only one initial porto is because we have too much fluctuation of temps et al here in the house. With this recent cold front and the heater blasting away, the compost keeps drying out really fast...something else that the lit says is not good.
anyway, this reminds me... I need to go mist the little guy(s)...love ya!
