Before I get to the point, I have to ask: Have you ever found yourself leaning toward one spelling of grey/gray over the other? They are both acceptable. I like "grey."
I'm beginning to think there is a direct correlation to the amount of grey hair spewing forth from my follicles and the amount of time I spend living in the past.

For some reason I always spell it "gray" without even thinking about it.
And I will never have gray hair. Because I dye it too regularly to know.
I've actually come to terms with the streak of grey hair I have over my right ear..this silvery flash that appeared from nowhere, and I figure by damn I've earned it so I might as well flaunt it.
There can be only one spelling of gray/grey - and that is 'brown'. In your case, perhaps 'reddish'.
:-)
I remember the first individual strands - I was about your age. Then everybody else noticed them. Then the strands started to join together into little regions. My sister is two years older - and she's pure silver. But the novelty wore off long ago. I'm actually relieved - and it isn't because of the top of my head. I now can grow a silvery beard that looks quite dignified - rather than the rainbow color thing I was cursed with at a younger age. Dishwater blonde/brown hair, black sideburns/eyebrows/moustache, and a red beard. It was really freakish.
