I'm sorry to be the fink here - I saw this on TV and it really bothered me.
That woman isn't trying to hurt the kitten, but the kitten is scared and is trying to defend itself against a foe it can't do anything about - it's trapped on its back. The expression on its face, the spread claws on the paws that try to clamp down on the fingers, it tries to kick with its hind legs and at the very end of the video, it tries to bite those fingers - all body language of fear and fight patterns in a cat .....
