I have an on going discussion with Dave, he's color blind. We'll wander through the garden, and he'll ask "what color is that?" I'll say blue, or purple or whatever, it's really interesting to think of what he's seeing, what we define as color he sees a whole different spectrum. We all accept colors as true, but what he sees is totally different, how do you explain the gradients that make blue purple? Or the softest shade of pink not white? How do you define a color to someone who has never seen it?
I keep looking for a color that I've never seen before.
I've pondered the relativity of color many times.
My ex-father-in-law was color blind, he couldn't see blue...but he loved blue! When together in Home depot looking at paint samples, he chose "Robin's Egg Blue". He kept going back to it, he said he just liked that color very much...WHAT did he see? I wonder.
Birds they think see waaaay more colors than humans.
