I haven't been able to post on this blog, but I think the stars have aligned in such a manner it will let me at least for the moment...What does it say in the man's eyes on "Feed the Birds"? & I have to tell you "Smoker" made me hesitate before lighting up! Very evocative, a little disturbing. You've definitely caught emotional depth in this one, also "Youth" as well. Makes you go back & study them again and again. I don't know the proper terminology for critiquing art, all I can say is your paintings make me feel. Does that make sense? Ok, I have to get off of this computer and get some chores done.
I am making new posters and postcards for the Yale Street Arts Market and have invited Michael-Ann to submit one of her paintings to adorn these, which one would YOU like to see? visit www.yalestreetmarket.com for more on that. I expect to print about 5,000 postcards.
I'll take a stab at this - I'd like to see "LIFE" accepted for your poster - it's warm, good colors, unexpected details that come into focus only if you look at it carefully ...
The quirky "Feeding Chickens" can be an unexpected center popup when you open a brochure.
oops! Michael-ann, I owe you an apology - I see the name of your painting is "Feed the Birds" - I don't know how I came up with "chickens" - guess it was all the fresh air that got to me that day .....
I was thinking for a postcard, perhaps "Landscape", the clean purity of the lines, and vivid colors would hold up in a smaller presentation. Does that make sense?

Wow! Hey, how big is "Feed the Birds?"
You are really good! SO which one is going to be on my poster?
Hey, it's so quiet around here now.
I STILL LOVE ALL OF YOUR PAINTINGS!

Especially liked the Nova Scotia Church - wish I had been there ....
WHY THANK YOU KINDLY!!!!!!!
I'm getting some input from the folks at WetCanvas on "Youth" and "Life" - I think those two are my favorite of the bunch.
Mom, I was thinking we should all go there next time :)
Me and Shannon have both decided that we are disturbed by The Smoker.
But he really wants to have some kind of print of it hanging in our house.
HELLO EVERYONE I have a question....
