Via Colori

Saturday was great... arrived at my square a little after nine and started to work. I was one of a few artists who happened to wind up working under one of the giant old live oaks just off the street - so when it started to drizzle a little i could continue working.

Managed to get most of my work done before i left for the day... then the rains came and washed most of everything away. Was a little sad to wander around with other artists Sunday looking at all the work that was washed away over night.

Since the festival was officially canceled the police officers would NOT let any of us draw (and we wanted to!) even though the street was still blocked off.

Here's a pic from about an estimated 3 hours prior to completion.

Yeh, you looked and sounded pretty snazzy on the news Saturday night! To bad about Sunday, the sun even came back out!

Howdeeeeeeee!

yeah Sunday sucked... folks were lugging around their pastels... we trudged from spot to spot...sort of like a funeral march. Even tho everyone knew the art was going to be washed away it was really kind of sad to have it washed away before you were ready.

Every artist i ran into wanted to draw anyway... but they would not let 'em. I hear the Center is going to have a "rain out day" in their parking lot.

With my little red camera. It's kinda low quality, but it's teeny and fits in my pocket and was cheap.

What a lot of chalk goes into these projects .... What a shame that Mother Nature had to take all the art so soon. I like the "musical musing" theme.
