This looks like some mad photoshopping, but it is the real deal. Check out National Geographic's article, there is a link at the top of it to a handful more photos of the sinkhole.

Man, geologists down there must be going nuts.
I was just getting ready to put something up on my blog about this - the 2 little girls that I sponsor through Children International live in Guatemala - not in the big city but out in a little village - I'm waiting to hear if they are OK .....
I couldn't believe it when I saw that ~ amazing!
I have a question re: our earlier conversation. Is cereal (like Special K for instance) not good for you? I wasn't sure if that falls into the bread/grain/gluten category.
Wild.
Mama!
Here are some more pictures from Guatemala. Warning: They're pretty heartbreaking.
The sinkhole pictures are toward the bottom.

Jamie those are some great photographs and yes so very heart-breaking. The folks in Guatemala have been through hell.
Mr. Mike, long time no see! What a surprise, I hope all is well down-under!
Mom have you heard anything yet about the girls yet? I hope they and their family are all right!
Jamie - I finally got a chance to look at the link that you put up above - what a mess - those people live so close to the edge of nothing to start with ...
Did you notice all the bars, fencing and barbed wire on all the houses? They live inside prisons against all the petty theivery.
No I haven't heard anything about Monica, Leila, their family or home yet....
